The time requirement for Yonkyu, Green Belt, varies from person to person, since each person advances at their own rate and is tested individually.


Yonkyu - 4th Kyu
Green Belt


Yonkyu, Green Belt, consists of 30 Self Defense Techniques and 18 Variations.

At this point in the students training they have learned 243 Self Defense Techniques and Variations.

Offensive move from behind opponent
3. The Butterfly (AB)
Right punch
4. Whirling Warrior (ABC)
Right punch
5. Flowing Hands
2 man attack: Opponent at 3:00 and 9:00
6. Whirling Blades (AB)

2 man attack: Right punch from 12:00 and 6:00
7. Thrusting Limb (ABC)
Counter against a kick your opponent has caught
8. Crossing Hammers (ABC)
Left punch
9. 2 Man Swinging Gate (AB)
2 man attack: Grab from 12:00, second opponent at 6:00
10. Sweeping Branches
2 man attack: Shoulder grab from 3:00/9:00
11. Knee Sweep
2 man attack: Wrist grab from 3:00/9:00
12. Kung Fu Wrist
2 man attack: Wrist grab from 3:00/9:00
