Nidan Techniques

Belt Requirements > Advanced Levels > Nidan

The time required to attain Nidan is approximately 2 years of training after receiving Shodan, 1st Degree Black Belt. Students have been studying and/or teaching for approximately 7 or 8 years to achieve the Nidan Rank. This time frame is approximate and denotes continuous training.

The Nidan, 2nd Degree Black Belt, test consists of all techniques taught Yellow Belt thru 2nd Degree Black Belt done on both sides. All Katas will be done on only one side. The Instructor will select basics at time of test so the student should be prepared to do any or all of the basics. Each basic will be done 5 times each and will include kicks and punches done on both sides against a bag or focus pad.
